The administrator of the yet to be commissioned Tamale Technical University hospital Yakubu Abdul-Jalil Baisa has announced that the facility, will compete favourably with first class hospitals in the country, in its quest to provide quality and affordable health care to its clients.
According to him, management have put in place measures including operating a paperless system at the facility to facilitate quick service delivery and reduce to best practices, the waiting time at the hospital.
“We will try as much as possible to provide quality health care to our clients. So we want to operate a paperless system within the region so we are bringing in software so we can run a computerized system to reduce the waiting time at the hospital”, he noted.
Speaking to Diamond news in an exclusive interview, Abdul-Jalil Baisa said, the hospital has acquired an ultra-modern laboratory equipment that will enable them provide quality health services to all their clients in and outside the region.
The hospital administrator said the hospital has the capacity to run 43 laboratory test including operating the fully automated chemistry analyzer which will be the first in the region when they start operations.
“We have provided all the equipments that we need for the theater and laboratory and currently in our lab we have the fully automated chemistry analyzer that we brought to the country. It is the first in the region and we can run a particular test that even Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) can’t run”.
The hospital, he added will serve as a research centre for students of the Tamale Technical University and other students from different schools to carry out their practical research activities.
Meanwhile, some of the students of the Tamale Technical University applauded the school authorities for investing in the health facility that will provide them with quality and accessible health care. They said it will afford them the opportunity to get medications immediately on campus which hitherto was not accessible at the school clinic.
The ultra modern 53 bed capacity hospital is expected to be commissioned on November 18, 2017 alongside the graduation of the 2016/17 academic year group.
