Westaf Mining and Petroelum Skilled Services (WAMPSS) is currently seeking a Competent Trainer in Heavy Equipment Electrical and Air Conditioning Preventative Maintenance Training and Assessment Programme
Position Summary
• Responsible fo the development, implementation and maintenance of the Maintenance training and qualification programme. Communities the importance of a safe work environment and safe work practices in all presentations
Major Accountabilities
• Develop, implement and maintain training curriculum and qualification programmes for maintenance employees
• Conduct class room training for each Preventive Maintenance Module
• Coordinate the development of simulation lessons and proficiency requirements for maintenance training and coordinate conducting the simulation training
• Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc training as needed to personnel
• Conduct Pre-Training Written Test, Conduct Pre-Training Practical test
• Promote communications with employees to influence the continuous improvement of safety and operability
• Incorporate a high degree of safety awareness in all training initiatives
• Assist in development and training involving safety and health guidelines
• Procedure delivery / practical delivery
• Conduct a Post Training written Test, Conduct Post Training Practical Test
• Maintain personnel training records to ensure compliance with requirements set by the regulatory agencies
• Develop and edit maintenance work instructions
• Organise and lead training and safety meetings
Qualification Required & Experience
• BSc Degree preferred, candidates with a diploma and related experience including, but not limited to, refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), steam, condensate, plumbing, fire protection and electrical systems will be considered in lieu of a degree
Experience Requirements
• 5 years minimum industry experience
• Above average computer skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance craft skills and functions
• Ability to train others
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
• Ability to address and handle confidential issues and materials on a regular basis
• Ability to read, analyse and interpret technical procedures, business periodicals and government regulations whether in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
