About UHAS School Of Medicine SOM

A warm welcome to the School of Medicine at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Ho in the Volta Region of Ghana. Founded in 2012, the School of Medicine is dedicated to training Medical Doctors and Physician Assistants who will be recognized by their excellence, integrity and innovation in the service and care they provide to their communities after graduation.

The School of Medicine is young and made up of a dynamic team of lecturers and students. We are always learning and our goal is to train students who will become agents of change, innovation and development wherever they find themselves.
We see our students as partners in our growth as an institution. You’re part of us and your ideas are always welcome. We encourage our students to think and experiment. They are free to constructively challenge the status quo. We believe you are the next generation of researchers and inventors and have provided a conducive environment to help you realize your dreams. We invite you to come and grow with us.
We hope that when your training ends, you will not only have graduated as a doctor or physician assistant but would also have learnt other life skills in business management, the creative arts, sports, leadership training and entrepreneurship. We hope to develop what other talents you have and by the time you pass out of our gates you will be leaving as a well -rounded individual.
At the School of Medicine, we believe in replicating ourselves. It’s never too early to mentor others. You will have numerous opportunities to volunteer and mentor younger students in the community. Leadership starts with you.
We hope that the principles of Medicine you learn from us will not just limit you to be leaders in your consulting rooms but to be leaders in your various communities as well. We are located in Ho, in a serene environment away from the hustle and bustle of the cities.
