Vakpo Secondary Technical school was established first as a continuation school in 1975 and transformed into Experiment Junior Secondary school in 1978 .It was later converted to Secondary Technical School in 1991 with active involvement of Commodore Steve Obimpeh, The Chief and Elders of Vakpo and Entire Community.
Three major Programmes were offered at inception of the school. These include Agricultural Science, Home Economics and Technical Programmes.
The first Headmaster Mr. Francis K. Hotor Served and Formed a strong foundation for the school . He served between 1991 and 1998 and went on Voluntary retirement. About one Hundred and fifty students were admitted from the beginning to pursue the various Courses as mentioned above.
During the tenure of Mr. Hotor, The Vakpo Youth Association __Accra__Tema branch donated one Hundred and fifty bags of Cement towards various development projects in the school. This took place in July, 1991.
The school now offers six programmes. These are Technical, Home Economics, Business, General Agriculture, General Arts and Visual arts
