University for Development Studies UDS Industrial Attachment

Industrial attachment is an experiential training exercise that sends all level 300 students to public and private organizations for industrial attachment. The Industrial Attachment Unit is run by a Committee chaired by a Coordinator. The Committee sees to posting students, assigning visiting supervisors and organizing oral defense of industrial attachment reports.

The Unit was formed in the 2011/2012 Academic year and has become a part of the requirement for the award of various undergraduate degree in the School of Business and Law. To facilitate the transition from academic study to a professional career, the Industrial Attachment Unit joins in partnership with relevant industries and organisation, Government ministries, Departments and agencies as well as private institutions to provide the practical on-the -job learning experience, “Attachment”, for the student.
The attachment provides students with an opportunity to grow professionally, identify personal strengths and weaknesses, apply learned theory to practical situations, and gain an appreciation of the role, duties, and responsibilities of the work that the student has chosen as a career.
