Grading System

a)TUM uses the Mark Grade System. Course Mark is a measure of performance of a student for a Semester. A course mark ranges from 0 to 100%.

b)Each course is assessed based on the Continuous Assessment Test and end of semester examinations. Distribution of marks is subject to the Faculties/Schools/ Institutes rules and regulations.

c)The letter grades with their corresponding percentage range values as shown below:

*Pass mark for taught Doctorate, masters, medical courses and some programmes that are regulated by professional bodies is 50%

The letter grades having no corresponding numerical values are used as qualifiers to indicate the status of the student. The following are the qualifiers in use:
