St Teresa’s College of Education Admission Requirements for 2020/2021 Academic year….
The Policy Statement:
The Admission Policy is committed to admitting students from a pool of academically sound applicants. The selection is therefore based on a comprehensive scrutiny of all information; both bio and academic data, presented in the application. However prospective students shall be determined by the quality of WAEC grades obtained by applicants subject to the determination of NCTE and NAB.
In accordance with the tertiary status of the College, the minimum entry requirements to the college are determined by the NCTE and NAB. The first Three (3) bulleted sub-issues under Article 4 are determined for admission into the Colleges in 2020/2021 academic year. Thus, reviews of this Admission Policy could be necessitated at any point in time in respect of entry requirement, subject to the recommendations from NCTE and NAB in respect of minimum entry requirement and/or any related issue(s).

  • passes in 6 subjects including Credits or better in Core English, Core Mathematics, Core Science / Social Studies and 3 Elective subjects.
  • for WASSCE holders, a minimum of 5 credits, including core English, Core Mathematics, Core Science/Social Studies or 6 passes (A1 –D7) in all subjects, including English Language and Mathematics and at least any 3 of 6 subjects relevant to the programme of choice.
  • for SSCE holders a minimum of 5 Credits including Core English, Core Mathematics, and Core Science/Social Studies or 6 passes (A –D) in all subjects including English language and Mathematics and at least 3 of the 6 subjects relevant to the programme of choice
  • Only female applicants shall qualify for admission.
  • That admission of 80% of the candidates will be by merit.
  • Twenty percent (20%) of the admission shall be reserved for protocol and distributed as follows:
  • Four Percent (4%) allocations shall be given to GES officials.
  • Four Percent (4%) shall be given to Staff with critical admission requests.
  • Four Percent (4%) shall be allocated to Individuals with Physical Disability who have applied for admission.
  • Four Percent (4%) to Community / traditional interests.
  • Four Percent (4%) shall be allocated to the Catholic Church interest.
