c). Mandatory Course(s):
All the courses listed above (core and elective) are mandatory. Students must pass these courses in order to successfully graduate.
d). Research Component:
Students are required to undertake a research or practical project work during the final year of their study under the guidance of a supervisor. The research project is mandatory for all students and if is the final requirement for the award of Higher National Diploma in Statistics.
e). Practical Training, Industrial Attachment, Internship, Clinical Experience, etc.
For purposes of linking theory to practice, students are given the opportunity to receive industrial practical training through seminars, field trips and industrial attachment programmes, especially during the long vacations during the first two academic years of the programme. The industrial attachment is now scored and incorporated in the students’ assessments with two (2) credit hours for each semester.

Employment Prospects of Graduates
Statisticians are needed and for that matter are employed in all the sectors of the economy. They could be employed in the Banking and Non-Banking Financial Institutions. Opportunities also exist in the health sectors under institution such as Hospitals, National Health Insurance Authority, etc. The security Services such as Ghana Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces, Revenue Agencies, MMDA’s etc need the services of statisticians.
