Ho Technical University HTU School of Graduate Studies SGS
The School of Graduate Studies was established as part of the Technical Universitys aim of training graduates to develop specialized skills in the practical application of innovative techniques and pursue further academic achievement through research. The School of Graduate Studies currently coordinates two Master of Technology programmes in Agricultural Engineering and Mechanical Engineering in affiliation with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.
OBJECTIVE OF MTECH
Master of Technology (MTech) programmes in Mechanical Engineering and Agricultural Engineering is to impart to students high level theoretical and practical knowledge to tackle practical problems in industry as well as pursue further academic achievement through research and development.
PROGRAMME CONTENT
The programme includes course work, industrial research projects relating to cutting edge technologies in Engineering, as well as occupational placements to exploit advanced technologies and systems. The MTech programmes focus on practical application of innovative techniques and the development of students’ professional capabilities for innovation. Students would be exposed to state-of-the-art engineering equipment and facilities at KNUST, Ho Technical University and other relevant Institutions and Agencies, as well as managerial skills. There is flexibility in the structure of the programme in respect of course work, practical training and research.
MTech. Agricultural Engineering Programme has the following options:
- Agricultural Machinery Engineering
- Food and Post-Harvest Engineering
- Soil and Water Engineering
MTech. Mechanical Engineering Programme has the following options:
- Production Engineering
- Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineering
- Automobile Engineering
