Authorities of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) have decided to raise the issue of a new Grading system at the Next Academic Board meeting, following requests by students to introduce a better grading system.
Speaking to gijonlinenews.com, the Vice Rector of the Institute Mr Ebo Afful says, “I will raise this issue at the next academic board meeting for the board members to debate and come to a conclusion as to how we should present or structure the results”.
He noted that authorities of the school had not come to the consensus yet to present a form that is beneficial for students “to predict the outcome of results” because they were unaware of the situation among the students.
However, the Rector of the institute, Dr. Wilberforce Sefakor Dzisah revealed that, “ the GPA system to check the classes of students will be introduced very soon before completion, as well as, an online platform will be  introduced for checking of results and at the same time, post it on the notice board for transparency”.
Meanwhile, authorities of the school have cautioned students to refer to their student’s handbook for the time being to be able to calculate their GPA and have a fair idea the class in which they fall.
