COURSE DISCRIPTION:
This course provides students with the basic knowledge and skills which enables them to behave responsibly to help protect their own health and the well being of their students.
In addition, the course enables trainees acquire skills for influencing others, and change their behaviour as a way of preventing HIV/AIDS and other STI infections. The course also enables trainees to adopt positive attitudes towards PLWHA.
OBJECTIVES: By the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate good knowledge and awareness of HIV/AIDS issues
- Acquire skills required to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.
- Use the knowledge and skills acquired to behave responsibly in the world of HIV/AIDS.
- Build a supportive environment for PLWHA.
- Create awareness among the pupils and the community in which they will stay on the modes of transmission, prevention of the spread of the virus, care
- transmission, prevention of the spread of the virus, care and support of the people infected with HIV/AIDS.

Mode of Delivery of Lessons: Lecture, Teacher Led discussion, Group presentation and demonstration.
ASSIGNMENT: Imagine that majority of Ghanaian farmers are ill due to AIDS related diseases. Indicate Four (4) things that could happen in Ghana. NOT more than 1 page of the foolscap sheet. Submission 6/4/2020
CA will comprise of Assignment, Quiz, Exercise, contribution in class and Class attendance = 40%
End-of-Semester Exams = 60%
