Entry Requirements for School of Applied Sciences
NursingEntry Requirements for Nursing
Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE): with an aggregate score of twenty-four (24) or better in six (6) subjects comprising: A – D in all three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science and at least passes i.e. (A – D) in three (3) elective subjects in the options of Science, General Arts, Agricultural Science and Home Economics.
West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE): with an aggregate score of 36 or better in six (6) subjects comprising: A1 – C6 in all three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science and at least passes in three (3) elective subjects in the options of Science, General Arts, Agricultural Science and Home Economics.
Foreign Students Requirements: foreign students must have their result slips translated into English. In addition, applicants must be able to speak and write in English.
Other Entry Qualifications for Admissions: Candidates with the Diploma In Registered Nursing (RN) from recognized institutions may apply. Such candidates may transfer credits from their previous course of studies, with appropriate recommendations and references. Applicants with State Registered Nurses’ (SRN) qualification from recognized health institutions and with a minimum of 3 years of practice.
All applicants to the School of Applied Sciences will be interviewed.
 
PharmacyEntry Requirements for Pharmacy
Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE): 6 passes with aggregate 24 or better and including 3 core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science; and 3 Elective subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. All passes should be grade D (SSSCE) or better.
West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE): 6 passes with aggregate 36 or better and including 3 core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science; and 3 Elective subjects including Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics. All courses should be grade C6 (WASSCE) or better.
GCE Entrants: Credits in 5 subjects at ‘O’ Level including English Language and Mathematics and 3 ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Mathematics.
Mature Applicants: Applicants must be at least 25 years with Science background – Chemistry, Biology and either Physics or elective Mathematics- and must pass an examination conducted by the University Holders of Bachelor of Science related degrees. (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Human Biology) or HND (Dispensing Technology/Laboratory Technology
Any application that comes without the above named qualifications will however be evaluated on its own merits.
Additional information on Pharmacy. By a directive of the Pharmacy Council, the B. Pharm Programme may be upgraded to a 6-year Pharm D (Doctor of Pharmacy Programme) mid-stream.
 
ArchitectureEntry Requirements for Architecture
Admission into the programme is open to SSSCE/WASSCE or Polytechnic graduates with any background; Science, Vocational, Visual Arts, Technical and General Arts.
Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE): 6 passes with aggregate 24 or better and including 3 core subjects. English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science. All passes should be grade D or better.
West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE): 6 passes with aggregate 36 or better and including 3 core subjects. English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science .All passes should be grade C6 or better.
Polytechnic Students: Passes in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science or any of the Elective Science subjects, in addition to 3 electives in the respective trades or technical subjects.
Any application that comes without the above named qualifications will however be evaluated on its own merits. Applicants are to note that should the total number of qualified candidates exceed the Department’s allotted vacancies, a selection interview will be conducted for shortlisted candidates.
 
Physician AssistantshipEntry Requirements for Physician Assistanship
Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE): with an aggregate score of twenty-four (24) or better in six (6) subjects comprising: A – D in all three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science and at least passes i.e. (A – D) in three (3) elective subjects in Science.
West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE): with an aggregate score of 36 or better in six (6) subjects comprising: A1 – C6 in all three (3) core subjects i.e. English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science and at least passes in three (3) elective subjects in Science.

Civil EngineeringEntry Requirements for Civil Engineering
WASSCE and SSSCE: The minimum requirements for admission into the programme are passes in three (3) core subjects at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) OR the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science, AND passes in three (3) elective subjects at SSSCE/WASSCE level, namely, Elective Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
The aggregate score of the 6 subjects should not exceed 24 in the SSSCE or 36 in the WASSCE. All passes should be grade D (SSSCE) or better or C6 (WASSCE) or better.
GCE Entrants: Applicants must have credits in at least five (5) GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics and a Science Subject, AND two passes at GCE A-Level in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry, plus a pass in General Paper.
Mature Applicants: Must be at least 25 years old and must have credits in five (5) GCE O’ Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and a Science subject, with at least 3 years relevant working experience. Candidates will be required to pass a qualifying examination conducted by the Department, and an interview.
HND holders (Civil Engineering option) who graduated within the range of First Class to Second Class (Lower Division) may also be considered for admission to an appropriate level.
Candidates are required to have passes at credit level in Mathematics, Science subjects and English Language. This is the basic departmental requirement.

Undergraduate Entry Requirements
Senior Secondary School Certificate: Passes in core English, core Mathematics, core Science and three elective subjects, with an aggregate score of 24 or better in the West African Examination Council (WAEC) or with an aggregate score of 36 or better in the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE). All passes must be at grade D (SSSCE) or grade C6 (WASSCE) or better.
General Certificate of Education: An applicant must have at least credit-level passes in 5 subjects (including English Language and Mathematics) at the GCE Ordinary Level and at least 2 passes at the GCE Advanced Level. One of the advanced level passes must be grade ‘D’ or better. A pass in General Paper must also be obtained.
Professional Qualifications: Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) with at least 3 Credits and 2 passes awarded by the Technical Examination Unit of GES. Other qualifications such as Private Secretary, Bilingual Secretaryship.
Mature Student’s Entry Requirement (MSER): Applicants without formal academic qualifications may be considered for admission if they are above 25 years old and have demonstrable relevant professional experience. Mature applications for the BA in Communication Studies programme must be at least 27 years before the academic year starts. Applicants will also be required to pass an entrance examination and / or an interview.
Graduate Entry Requirements
Same as above for undergraduate programmes. In addition, an accredited Diploma in Theology or Religious Studies from a recognized institution with at least a grade ‘B’ average. Applicants for the Masters programmes must have a first degree in a relevant field with not lower than 2nd class lower division.

Les candidats ayant un diplôme d’infirmier issu d’une institution reconnue peuvent s’inscrire et pourront bénéficier d’un transfert de compétences professionnelles sous présentation d’une lettre de recommandation et de références.
Les infirmiers d’Etat ayant au moins 3 ans d’expériences ainsi qu’un diplôme d’une Institution de santé reconnue peuvent aussi s’inscrire.
Note : Les étudiants étrangers doivent avoir tous leurs diplômes et résultats traduits en Anglais. Ils doivent également être en mesure de lire et d’écrire couramment l’Anglais.
